The Oral Contraception Pill normally is prescribed by your doctor to reduce the heavy period blood for woman as well as in treating of period pain, or for contraceptive purpose ( 21 days on and 7 days off). Oral contraception is the dominant method of contraception for women in the world wide, in Canada there is more than 43% of sexually active women use it. Women who is taking the pill and smoking,may be in danger in developing of blood clots, heart attack, and stroke, etc. while progesterone does not. Women who are over 35 of age may be at risk of blood clot, if taken the the pill, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Since the progesterone only pill decrease the levels of FSH that prevents the increase in estradiol levels, leading to inhibition of follicular development and the absence of a LH surge, thus preventing ovulation.

2. The bad
a. Ovarian cyst

Additionally, a recent review of progestins, progesterone, and breast cancer risk looked at over 100 references and found that only the synthetic progestins, particularly when given continuously, increased breast cancer risk.
