Contraceptive injection is a method of birth control with the injection of certain synthesis medicine, similar to the oral contraceptive medicine. Additionally, a recent review of progestins, progesterone, and breast cancer risk looked at over 100 references and found that only the synthetic progestins, particularly when given continuously, increased breast cancer risk.
