Thrush is defined as condition of infection of the mouth and throat and on the tongue caused by over growth candida fungus in the family of Candida Albicans. it occurs most often in infants and children.

Why the new born gets thrust
Before the baby were born, vitamin K can cross over from the placenta to the digestive system of the baby, leaving the digestive in the yeast free environment. Most baby first come in contact with yeast as they as soon as they are born. Thrush can develop if bad bacteria overwhelms the good one in the digestive track, it can lead to overgrowth of yeast in your baby's mouth as a result of hormonal change of the mother.
It may be caused by yeast passing from the mother during breast feeding as a result of using antibodies or yeast from the mother herself. In new born, the appearance of yeast infection is white patches on the surface of mouth and can not come off.
